Reid Next Through Stags Door
Jamie Reid has been announced as the second player to transfer to Mansfield Town this week following the earlier capture of Jordan Bowery.
After the signing of Nottingham born Bowery from MK Dons on Monday, yesterday Mansfield announced their second signing of the summer (and in as many days) with Torquay United striker Reid, a former Northern Ireland U21 International new in at Field Mill.
The highly rated centre forward has spent 3 seasons at Plainmoor where he has scored 78 goals in 144 appearances with 18 of them coming in the National League last season. Prior to that Reid started his career at Exeter City before leaving in 2016.
Stags Manager Graham Coughlan stated “Jamie is an exciting prospect. He is young, fit and gives us great mobility and more importantly he knows where the net is and is a proven goalscorer.”
“We have been tracking him for some time and he is a player who the fans will really take to. He is desperate for an opportunity at a higher level.”
“He is someone who really fits into our DNA and as soon as we get going again, I’m sure he will be a player who can get our fans on the edge of their seats.”
