Lundqvist Signs For Wildcats
Moa Lundqvist has signed for Nottingham Wildcats ahead of the new WBBL season after leaving the University of San Francisco (USF) following three years in representing one of the most famous college teams in America the San Francisco Dons.
The Swedish born forward played 62 times for the Dons averaging 4.5 points per game with 5.1 rebounds each match and comes to Nottingham linking up with the Wildcats whilst aiming for a masters in marketing from Nottingham University.
“After sitting out last season at USF, I feel extra motivated to get back out on the court and play,” said Lundqvist. “I think University of Nottingham and Nottingham Wildcats is a great place for me to keep developing both in the classroom and on the court. I’m so grateful for my time at USF and feel ready for this new adventure in the UK.”
USF Assistant Coach Arthur Moreira stated “Moa is getting a fantastic opportunity. The Wildcats are one of the top professional teams in the WBBL, having won two championships in 15-16 and 16-17.”
Lundqvist has been a member of the Swedish Youth squad and is the daughter of Eva who played in the highest basketball league in Sweden for six years, before moving to USF Moa played for Odessa College averaging over seven points and rebounds per game with a 50% field shot ratio.
In 2017/18 Lundqvist made 31 appearances for the Dons repeating that feat the following season (2018/19) where she was one of two San Francisco players to receive the WCC All Academic First Team.
