Cafu Signs For Forest As Two Move On

Nottingham Forest have signed yet another player to add to their ever-changing squad, this time in the name of Cafu, who is a holding midfielder from Olympiakos in Greece.

The Portuguese former youth international has played just nine times in the Greek Super league scoring two goals but was part of last seasons double winning team that won both domestic competitions.

Having started in the B team at Benfica, Carlos Miguel Ribeiro Dias, to give his full name, then moved to Vitoria Guimares playing 61 times in the Portuguese top flight before moving to Lorient in France. After a successful season he joined fellow Ligue 1 side Metz before a move to Poland where he joined Legia Warsaw initially on loan before a permanent deal took him to the Ekstraklasa where he won the title and Polish cup double with Legia in 2017/18.

Now 27, Cafu has spent the last year and a bit in Greece and joins Forest on a season long loan deal.

Two players left Nottingham Forest yesterday as Yohan Benalouane had his contract terminated by mutual consent and Nuno Da Costa joined Belgian side Royal Excel Mouscron on a season long loan deal.

The Reds are not in action now until 17th October when they face Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park and with no points from four league games played the side must use this time on the training ground to improve if they are to ease any early season relegation worries.

Whilst the Manager is now under huge pressure many fans are starting to ask questions on why so many changes have been made to a side that only lost out on a playoff place last season due to goal difference.

The only way to silence those questions is to get results and Forest need those quickly after the international break if they are to quash any rumours of unhappiness at the City Ground. The biggest question however remains on whether Sabri Lamouchi will still be in charge in order to get a result by the time the match against Blackburn comes around.
