Stags In EFL Trophy Action

Mansfield Town will be looking for their first win of the new season when they take on Lincoln City in the group stages of the EFL Trophy this evening.

The Stags have lost four and drew two of their six games in all competitions this season and have been knocked out of the EFL Cup, lie 21st in the League Two table and are currently bottom of the EFL Trophy Group 5 after losing their first match against Manchester City U21’s.

At Newport on Saturday the Stags took a second half lead to be pegged back before conceding a late winner and Graham Coughlan will be sure to use this game as an opportunity to get back some confidence against a Lincoln side that are currently top of League One but will be sure to rest players ahead of their trip to the One Call Stadium this evening.

Coughlan has stated that he wants to field a strong a side as possible and a good performance would come as a timely boost ahead of the weekends match against Stevenage.

Kick Off tonight is 7pm with the match screened live only on iFollow.

Elsewhere tonight Carlton Town host Wisbech Town and Worksop Town face Glossop North End in the Northern Premier League South East Division with supporters allowed to attend in limited capacity. Both games kick off at 7:45 with Carlton looking to build on their first win at the weekend whilst Worksop are hoping to get back to the top of the table after being knocked off with two games in hand on Belper, Newcastle and Loughborough who are now above them.

In the Northern Counties East League tonight, AFC Mansfield travel to Goole whilst Newark host Gresley in the Midland Football League with Selston travelling to Walsall Wood.

Finally in the East Midlands Counties League Clipstone host Belper United and Dunkirk welcome Heanor Town with both games kicking off at 7:30pm.
