Notts Aim For First Win Live On BT

Notts County are back in televised action this evening as they take on Altrincham in the Magpies first home match of the National League season.

Neal Ardley’s men will be looking to bounce back from last minute defeat at Dover at the weekend and get off their promotion push to a winning home start after losing their opening match of the season in Kent.

The Manager will be looking to change his side around slightly in a game played behind closed doors this evening with the kick off as usual at 7:45pm.

Ardley stated ahead of the game “I wouldn’t expect to make wholesale changes but we’ll have a look at whether we make a tweak here or there.”

“I’ve said to all the players that when I rotated last season everybody was fit and in a good place, which made it easy because whoever I brought in was going to play at the same high levels as those who I took out. The players not in the XI have to make sure they’re absolutely at it.”

Altrincham like Notts have played just one league game so far, drawing their opening match of the season against Weymouth but Neal Ardley is expecting a tough match against a side that were promoted to the National League through the playoffs having finished fifth in the National League North last season.

Ardley said “Altrincham are on a high after coming up through the play-offs and they got a good point against Weymouth in difficult conditions in their first game.”

“They’re good in their transitions from defence to attack and have a game plan on how to win the ball back.”

Notts will know they have to be on their ‘A’ game to get a result against a side in form with Enzio Boldewijn and Ruben Rodrigues potentially challenging for a starting position as on loan Mansfield striker Jimmy Knowles could also be given his chance. Both Notts and Casper Sloth however have agreed to terminate the Danes contract with the midfielder failing to settle in the area in his short spell at Meadow Lane.

Kick off for Notts v Altrincham is at 7:45pm with the match live on BT Sport.
