Forest Make Changes Ahead of Wednesday
Nottingham Forest will face Sheffield Wednesday tonight (Tuesday) live on Sky Sports as they hope to end a horrible run of form that has seen them take just one point from seven matches.
Last season the Reds were thumped at home to the Owls 0-4 in what was then Manager Sabri Lamouchi’s worst defeat at the City Ground and a repeat of that this time out could prove costly for the new man in charge and his team, especially with the Hillsborough based outfit bottom of the table four points below 21st placed Forest, keeping them out of the relegation places thanks largely to a points deduction prior to the start of the season.
Wednesday, like Forest have lost their last three games in the Championship and Chris Hughton’s side will be without both Anthony Knockaert and Tobias Figueiredo suspended, whilst Scott McKenna is still injured alongside long-term absentees Jack Colback and Luke Freeman but Lewis Grabban could at least return to action as the Reds search for much needed goals.
Wednesday will be without Dominic Iorfa whilst Jack Marriott and Aden Flint are out, however important the game is not yet a six pointer according to Manager Chris Hughton who stated “I wouldn’t say it is because of the part of the season that we are at. The exact same way that any team can go on a poor run of games in terms of results.”
But Hughton knows a victory is vital to not just lift morale but to also help the side move away from danger. saying “When you are in the period that we are at the moment, you take a win in any way that it comes. Whether it is not such a good performance and a fortunate goal, or a little bit of creativity that wins the game. Whichever way, but we have more chance of winning if the performance is better.”
Hughton said “We are frustrated, angry, disappointed, all of those things because we need to be picking up points. We have found in the last six games, those against the top sides, that we have fallen short of that.”
“I believe that our performances haven’t warranted all of the results that we have got, but the fact is that we haven’t got those results. We need to do better and the next best opportunity to do that is tomorrow. With the run that we are on, the next game becomes even more important.”
The match kicks off at the City Ground at 7:45pm and will be available to watch on Sky Football.
