Forest Busy On Deadline Day

Nottingham Forest had a busy summer transfer deadline day yesterday as they brought in three new permanent signings with Jordan Gabriel moving to Blackpool.

The Reds signed Paraguayan International Braian Ojeda with Tunisian full back Mohamed Drager and Portuguese attacker Xande Silva all moving to the City Ground before the midnight cut off to complete Forest’s transactions on a hectic day that also saw Harry Arter and Nuno Da Costa move out on loan.

The Reds started the day selling Jordan Gabriel to Blackpool where he had a loan spell last season, with a rumoured fee up to £700,000 for a player that has started all five of the Reds league matches this season.

Brian Ojeda was then announced, a combative midfielder just 21-years-old who was involved in his national team’s squad during the recent Copa Libertadores. Ojeda had a short spell on loan at Argentine outfit Defensa y Justica who won the Copa Sudamericana in 2020 before firming down a place at one of Paraguay’s biggest clubs, Olimpia who he helped win their 45th national title with.

Mohamed Drager was next, from Olimpiakos, who else, an attacking right back and Tunisian international with 18 caps, formerly of Freiburg, the German born defender will slot straight in to the void left by Gabriel and will add huge experience in a problem position having played in the Bundesliga and Greek Super League.

Finally a late deal for West Ham United winger Xande Silva see’s another player who has played Greek football join the Reds, a Portuguese U20 international, Silva has played one Premier League game for the Hammers prior to a loan at Aris Thessaloniki where he scored 4 goals in 29 games last season.

Going the other way, Harry Arter joins Charlton Athletic on a season long loan whilst Nuno Da Costa joins Caen in France, until the end of the season.
