Ollerton Held But Linby Win
A handful of matches were played in the Camper UK Central Midlands Alliance Premier this past midweek as both Linby Colliery Welfare (South) and Teversal (North) registered victories.
Both playing on Tuesday night it was to be Linby’s first success of the new season, they brushing aside visiting Mickleover Reserves 5-1, Ethan Fells and Zachary Hamilton having the hosts two-to-the-good at half-time.
The goals continued in the second forty-five also as Ewan Gibson got the ball rolling within minutes of the restart, before substitute Ashdon Bernard added the fourth just after the hour mark, and Patrick Stefaniak added a late fifth, and shoot them into the top ten.
Meanwhile the move into the North is doing early wonders for Teversal who are two-from-two at the start of the current campaign, and sit top of the table following a hard-fought, home win.
Like the season opener though, this also came at a cost when after a goalless first forty-five, Tevie lost Elliott Bland to injury, with a little over twenty remaining; Dillon Gregory took to the field with less than ten left and, after a free-kick was awarded, was on-hand to score the winner – Oliver Winfield’s pass to Scott Taylor making its way to Gregory to score.
Three other matches involving Notts-based clubs were also played as Ollerton Town held visiting Glapwell to a draw on Tuesday night.
Goalless at the break, the hosts took the lead through Jack Noble’s effort just after the hour mark, a low free-kick into the box being fired home on his debut; the lead lasted around twenty minutes before a goalmouth scramble, following a corner, is forced home to level proceedings.
