Leaders Teversal Hit Eight
They do say that change is as good as the rest and, in Teversal’s case, this hasn’t been truer; following recent struggles the Tevie Boys, over the summer, made the switch from the Camper Uk Central Midlands Alliance Premier South, to the Premier North, and boy are they loving it.
Saturday would see another victory wrapped up, their sixth in seven outings, when they brushed aside visiting Yorkshire Main, 8-1, and a six-goal first half display which sees them maintain a three-point advantage on second place Hatfield Town.
Braces from Joshua Radford and Joshua Parfitt, and a couple of own-goals were added to by first half efforts by Tyron Macaskill and Cameron Pinnick, with Parfitt’s double taking his early season to seven already.
The victory keeps them ahead of the afore-mentioned Hatfield, as well as joint-third pairing Dinnington Town and Worksop Town Reserves, with the games in-hand of joint-fourth Harworth Colliery (four) and Kinsley Boys (three) something to keep an eye on.
Harworth moved joint-fourth following their 5-1 success at home to Worksop’s second string, the visitors’ consolation coming via Luke Abdy’s second half goal, the hosts seeing both Robert Singer and Billy Stafford notch braces, whilst there was also a heavy defeat for Ollerton Town as well, they going down 4-0 at home to AFC Bentley.
In the CMA Premier South three of the Notts-based clubs are locked in mid-table as Selston, Linby Colliery Welfare, and Mansfield Hosiery Mills, all have nine points (the latter inactive due to a recent management change).
Selston moved to the front of that trio following a 4-1 win at Bakewell Town, goals coming from Liam Taylor (2), Colt Reynolds, and Ty Short, and Linby also picked up a win, seeing off visitors Mickleover RBL 3-0, thanks to second half efforts from Harry Thorne, Ewan Gibson, and Will Knowles.
The remaining game saw Blidworth Welfare earn a point when being held to a 1-1 draw with visiting FC Sunnyhill, Ben Copestake’s goal for the hosts looking like it had earned maximum points, only for the visitors to equalise in stoppage time.
Meanwhile, in the EuroSoccer Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division, Collingham have nipped ahead of the unbeaten Cotgrave at the top after they won 4-1 at home to Arnild Town (Cotgrave were inactive), both Harrison Gomm and Alex Mackinder bagged braces in the win.
The win put them ahead by a point, but having played two games more, whilst Arnold slipped to fourth place after Awsworth Villa moved ahead on goal-difference, after their 9-1 thrashing of hosts FC Cavaliers.
Substitutes were the main factor in the Villa’s win as Darren Fotso scored three, Ethan Shipstone two, as well as Luke Coxon, all from the bench; with six differing scorers for the visitors, the other gaols came via Robbie Manners, Ryan Marsh, and Thomas Scott.
Keyworth United’s 2-0 win under the Friday Night Lights, against visiting West Bridgford Reserves, sees them fifth, sixth place Woodthorpe Park Rangers won 2-1 at home to Ruddington Village, Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves moved above Beeston into seventh after a 3-0 win there, and Southwell City Reserves moved into tenth following a 3-0 win away to lowly Notts Olympic.
