Notts Edged By Boldmere – Women’s Round Up
Notts County are sitting seventh in the FA Women’s National League Division One Midlands league following a 3-2 loss at home to Boldmere St. Michael’s on Sunday afternoon.
Looking to move into double figures for victories, County took the lead after just ten minutes when Shoniqua Barnes volleyed home at the back post; it was a lead that lasted just five minutes however when Leonie Joyce equalised for the visitors.
Boldmere went in 2-1 at the interval however when they scored through Grace Gregory’ County squared things up within five minutes of the restart though when Barnes doubled up, again finishing at the back post.
County had chances in which to go in-front themselves through Leah Hardy and Rhea Bailey, but it was the visitors who grabbed what proved the winner with twenty minutes remaining through Keeley Davies.
With a game in hand, and a point adrift, County will be looking to overtake sixth place Barnsley as they head into the final three games of the season.
Next up for County, a local affair at home to Loughborough Lightning (6 April), before games against Lincoln City (a, 13 April) and Solihull Moors (h, 27 April).

Four games involving Notts-based clubs were played in the East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League, two in their Premier and two in Division One North.
The former of those there was defeats on the road for both SJR Worksop, and Nottingham Trent University; SJR were edged 2-1 away to Anstey Nomads, Emily Myatt with the goal as their hosts moved level with them on points in the bottom half of the table, SJR having games in hand on those beneath them.
League-wise, SJR have three games remaining, two of which are against Mansfield Town, with title-chasing Sheffield sandwiched between.
NTU meanwhile, they were soundly beaten, 6-0, away to Chesterfield, Imogen Fowler with a hat-trick, and Millie Standen at the double.

Division One North would see Arnold Eagles and Notts County Development shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw at the former, whilst Sherwood was beaten 3-1 at Dronfield Town.
There were plenty of games played in the Notts Girls & Ladies League, with goals galore in Seniors One; Newark Town and University of Nottingham have pulled away slightly following
recent results, both picking up big wins as the former defeated visiting third bottom Blidworth Welfare 6-2, and the latter thrashed their hosts, Retford, 10-0.
Radcliffe Olympic head up the chasing pack and were held to a goalless draw off Mansfield Town Development, Lowdham Colts and Basford Untied U23s drew 1-1, and NTU Pink won 3-2 away to Arnold Eagles Development.
Calverton Miners Welfare meanwhile progressed to the semi-finals of the Seniors Plate competition after they won 2-0 at Hucknall Town, Caitlin Keetley scoring early on and Chloe Marshall wrapping things up with ten to go.
Seniors Two saw Keyworth United win 3-1 away to Sherwood Colliery as Sammy Jaques notched a brace, and in Seniors Three Meden Vale Colts won 3-0 at FC Pelican, and West Bridgford Colts Development won 3-1 at home to Cotgrave.
