Forest & Stags Reach ‘Another’ Final
This season’s Nottinghamshire FA Women’s County Cup final will be contested between FA Women’s National League side, Andy Cook’s Nottingham Forest, and East Midlands Women’s Regional Football League outfit, Andi Bell’s Mansfield Town.
Sunday afternoon would see Forest ease to a comfortable, Nottinghamshire derby success, when away to Adam Dunleavy’s Notts County Women, the Reds progressing on the back of a 7-0 win.
A goal up inside ten minutes, and two up by the interval, Cook’s charges went nap in the second period, adding a further five goals.
Charlotte Greengrass would open the scoring, Charlotte Steggles doubling the lead on the half hour for a half-time lead; after the break both Rosie Axten, and Greengrass adding her second, within ten minutes of the restart.
Heading into the final half hour further goals were added when Tamara Wilcock grabbed a quick-fire double, whilst Hayley James wrapped up proceedings with five minutes remaining.

Meanwhile at Mansfield, Bell’s side took a 2-1 interval lead before running out 5-2 winners against Neil Matthews’ Arnold Eagles.
Jessica Parker and Georgia Gladwin would afford the hosts an interval lead before adding further goals, in the second period, through Gladwin with her second (eleven goals in eleven games), as well as Nikki Wigman and Shannon Purdy – information regarding the final TBC.

In the EMWRFL Premier Division, the bottom two sides clashed as Leicester City and Rise Park Ladies shared six goals, the hosts now having conceded 105 goals in their thirteen league games (and still to pick up a win), the Notts club netting through a Katie Platts brace, and one from Abigail Newman.
In Division One North, the game between second place Nottingham Trent University, and third place Grimsby Town, finished goalless, Trent holding a two point advantage on their promotion rivals, but having played two games more.
Nottingham Forest Development on the other-hand consolidated fifth place in Division One South by inflicting a first defeat of the season on Derby County Academy, blotting their 100% record, Amber Bilous and substitute Jessica Abdy with the goals.
