Cup Draws Involving Notts Sides

It’s been cup draws galore this past week as the Football Association released the opening round(s) of the Emirates FA Cup, Isuzu FA Trophy, Isuzu FA Vase, and the FA Youth Cup competitions.

Across the county, non-league clubs have been finding out who they’re facing in national competitions, with the upcoming, 2025/26 season, just around the corner.

In the opening, Extra Preliminary Round, of the FA Cup, there’s an even mix of home and away contests for the counties’ early entrants; Eastwood CFC, Sherwood Colliery, and Hucknall Town have been afforded home ties, whilst that of Newark Town, AFC Mansfield, Newark & Sherwood United, and Kimberley Miners Welfare, are on the road.

With Carlton Town and Basford United both entering the competition in the next, Preliminary Round, the opening few weeks of August are firmly locked in, one way or another.

In the FA Trophy both Basford United and Carlton Town havING been drawn away from home in the First Qualifying Round, the ties coming in early September.

FIRST QUALIFYING ROUND (to be played 6 September 2025)

Long Eaton United vs. CARLTON TOWN; Mickleover vs. BASFORD UNITED

Over in the FA Vase meanwhiles, and the opening, First Qualifying Round, kicking off proceedings in late August, a number of clubs from across the county have involvement at this early stage.

Both Retford sides have been handed home ties in the opening round, with the only sides having been drawing away from home, from the eleven entrants, being that of Dunkirk, and Gedling Miners Welfare, the former of which have a local affair away to AFC Mansfield in which to contend with.

The FA Youth Cup meanwhile kicks off in early September, with the first two rounds also having been drawn, and the three sides involved finding out who their respective youth sides will oppose in the Preliminary Round, and should they get past that, the First Qualifying Round.

Of the three involved, Eastwood CFC are the only side drawn away from home, with both Basford United, and Sherwood Colliery, receiving home draws, Eastwood again on the road should they progress.
