Sport & Cider? Here’s What’s On
This weekend the city of Nottingham has a packed fun filled few days of sport with something for everyone from participating to watching from beer to basketball whether it be for pensioner or toddler we have something for you as we look to enjoy the first full weekend of March by fulfilling our sporting needs.
Starting with beer (as we like to at Nottingham Sport) and whilst Nottingham Rugby Club are not in action this weekend the facilities at their Lady Bay Ground very much are as the Six Nations Beer Festival takes place with Greene King & guests from today (Friday 6th March) and tomorrow (Saturday 7th March).
With tickets available through Gigantic here you can still reserve a table prior to tomorrows Six Nations clash between England and Wales which kicks off at 16:45 at Twickenham.
For a £10.80 entry fee you also get a glass and 6 beer tokens with the event running from 5pm-11pm tonight and 1pm-11pm tomorrow.
Also tomorrow the Nottingham Tennis Centre are hosting The Big Tennis Weekend which is a free event for 3-10 year olds to attend with all equipment provided and full coaching given to allow an enjoyable session of tennis for beginners and children who want to give the game a try.
Starting at 1pm on Saturday and from 10am on Sunday just bring your kids along or you can find out more through the Visit Nottinghamshire website here.
Those of you looking for the perfect family fun sporting event to attend might want to consider taking your children to see The Original Harlem Globetrotters at the Motorpoint Arena tonight.
The world famous basketball gymnasts will be in action from 7:30pm with limited seats still available through Ticketmaster priced from £21.
Finally if it’s exercise you want, why not try the Nottingham 5k & 10k winter run at Wollaton Park on Sunday?
Supporting the Shelter Charity this weekly run is found across the country and this weekend takes place in the heart of our city. So dust off those running shoes and get yourself down to the home of Batman. For more details of the event please click here
