Forest Prepare To Play Home Alone

It’s going to be a quiet first Championship match post lockdown at the City Ground on Sunday but as Nottingham Forest prepare to face Huddersfield Town in a bid to further strengthen their promotion hopes, attention has been drawn to the famous old stadium itself and its fan filled makeover which will hopefully make up for those lack of supporters unable to attend through government measures.

For the remainder of the season the Brian Clough Stand will feature a number of cardboard cut outs with little over 1,000 photos of Reds supporters already enlarged and placed on seats in the lower tier with the Bridgford Stand housing a number of flags from fans across the country with references to legends of the past.

The Trent End, stunning as ever, will display a fantastic flag made by the Forza Garibaldi group who also have other famous editions dotted around the ground. Forza’s huge display of Giuseppe Garibaldi across the seats in the upper tier of the Trent End is complemented by a banner with all the images of the current Forest first team and the words “Every single one of us remains right behind every single one of you”.

The magnificent work is to provide a fortress like atmosphere Trentside even without the fans as football returns to its 2019/20 conclusion without those paying spectators thanks (or no thanks) to Covid-19.

Whilst off the pitch all is coming together in preparation, on it Forest will know that nothing less than a win against Huddersfield this weekend will do as the live match on SKY this Sunday (2:15pm Kick Off) will provide the Reds with an attempt to get closer to their target towards a play-off berth.

After conceding a last minute leveller against Sheffield Wednesday last week, Forest are currently fifth just four points ahead of Cardiff in seventh but that gap could drop down to just one ahead of the Reds match against the Terriers as the count down towards the campaign gets closer.

Forest will be hopeful that the likes of Samba Sow and Ben Watson could return whilst Huddersfield Town Manager Danny Cowley has concerns over his front-line and in particular Frazier Campbell and Steve Mounie.

Last time out Huddersfield were beaten at home by Wigan Athletic and the Reds opponents are currently 20th just one point above the drop zone.
