Yet another great signing for the Stags as Mansfield Town welcome Corey O’Keefe to the One Call Stadium after the 22-year-old joins following his release from Birmingham City.

The West Midland born full back started his career with his home town club and made one appearance for the blue half of brum after coming through the academy at St Andrews.

After a successful spell on loan at Solihull Moors in 2018/19 O’Keefe joined Macclesfield Town on loan last season and made 31 appearances for the Silkmen who were relegated from League Two into the National League after being bottom of the table post covid-lockdown.

Following his release the Irish Youth International was snapped up by Mansfield Manager Graham Coughlan who stated “Corey has a bright future ahead of him.”

“He had a really good season on loan at Macclesfield last season. He has a wise head on young shoulders and offers us great energy, enthusiasm and can cover a number of positions.”

O’Keefe on joining told the Mansfield Town official website “I’m delighted to sign for Mansfield Town. It is a club with an excellent infrastructure and the manager has already made a number of really impressive signings ahead of the new season.”

“I can’t wait to get started. I’m ready now to go into the squad and work hard.”
