Hoods Beat Dragons By Ten

It was a high-scoring, record-breaking victory, for Nottingham Hoods, at the Wildcats Arena on Saturday night, as Vladan Dragosavac’s side beat Bradford Dragons 103-93, with Jun Murdock setting a new Hoods record for rebounds.

Victory for the Hoods sees the them now joint-ninth in the table, level with London Cavaliers and Newcastle Knights, on 14 points, and it also means they’ve now won three of their last four outings.

Up 55-48 at the half, and winning the first three quarters, the Dragons clawing some of the deficit back in the fourth to finish within ten of the victors; points-wise for the Hoods the both Elliott Bailey and Jun Murdock registered 23pts apiece, Sam Akano 18pts, and Greg Skoric 15pts.

Murdock’s record-breaking night would see him, along with notching 23pts and four rebounds, also added a new club record, with 16 assists, as the Hoods ran up a century of points.

Hoods Forward, Bailey, added 23pts, seven rebounds and one assist; Guard, Akano with 18pts, two rebounds, and seven assists; and Forward-Center, Skoric also put in a shift with 15pts, 13 rebounds, and six assists, the Hoods attacking prowess coming to the fore.

The Dragons’ Justin Williams top-scored overall in the game with 24pts, whilst Micah Savery-Richards also scored high with 23pts, the visitors keeping themselves, just about, within touching distance of the free-scoring Hoods.

Murdock’s points game average is now at 19.3 following the Dragons, Landon Taliaferro with a 17.9avg, and Skoric 16.0avg as they look towards their final three outings, against Essex Rebels (sixth; H), London Cavaliers (tenth; H), and Worthing Thunder (thirteenth; A), over the next few weeks.

Hoods Guard, 6ft 3ins Patrick-Peace Adedeji said after the victory; “It was a really good game for the Hoods.

“We really fought an important game for us, because it was game for Bradford to get relegated and we did that so all the boys fought today and fought really hard.

“We wanted it more than them and it showed on the scoreboard, so really good job Hoods and we’re now looking forward to next weekend.”

Next up for Nottingham Hoods, it’s another home game as they welcome sixth place Essex Rebels to the Arena on Saturday 22 March (tip-off 18:30).
