Proud Panthers Reflect & Focus

Nottingham Panthers the only team from the UK to win a European Ice Hockey title are through to the finals of the 2020 Continental Cup in January to try and repeat what they did in 2015 and after a fantastic weekend in Denmark the players and staff have been reflecting on what it all means to them.

Panthers Coach Tim Wallace summed it up on Sunday by simply stating “what a day that was” the American former NHL star said “it was a great team win, really good hockey and the guys stepped up and did what it took to win”

Homegrown talent Robert Lachowicz after beating the Danes Sonderjyske in their back yard to secure qualification said “We’re good at fairytales in Nottingham so I think we’ll be alright” whilst Panthers netminder Jackson Whistle commented on the fans who travelled to Denmark saying “you guys rocked it! Huge shoutout to all the fans”

The Panthers will go in to the tournament which is played over the weekend 10-12 January 2020 facing Neman Grodno of Belarus who topped Group F ahead of MKS Cracovia of Poland and will also face again Sonderjyske who qualified as second placed in Nottingham’s group E win.

The venue for the finals will be announced over the next coming weeks whilst attention now draws to Elite League Ice Hockey as Panthers first visit Sheffield Steelers on Saturday night before taking on Manchester Storm on Sunday in back to back away games.
