Mansfield Target Coughlan
Mansfield Town have been rumoured to be interested in Bristol Rovers Manager Graham Coughlan after ‘The Gas’ gave permission for the Stags to speak with him.
Coughlan is currently in charge of the fourth placed League One side gunning for promotion to the Championship but has stunned the club by admitting he’s considering his future despite beating fellow promotion hopefuls Ipswich Town at the weekend.
Rovers have rejected two approaches from Mansfield for Coughlin but reluctantly agreed to a third allowing the 45 year old to negotiate with the League Two side currently struggling in 18th after sacking John Dempster at the weekend.
It will be a major coup for Mansfield should Coughlan step down a division to join the club after half a century of games at Bristol in his 12 month spell seeing a winning percentage of over 44% at the club.
The Dublin born former Plymouth Argyle, Sheffield Wednesday and Rotherham United defender is the Stags number one target and should Mansfield get their man it will be a major managerial signing made with intent to push the club forward and into a promotion pushing team.
