Goals Around In CMA & NSL
Four of the five Notts-based clubs in action in the Camper UK Central Midlands Alliance picked up victory on Saturday, whilst the one at home also tasted victory in a good outing for local outfits.
In the CMA Premier North three of the four victors notched three in their respective successes as SJR Worksop won 3-0 at Staveley Miners Welfare Reserves, and both RHP Sports, and Ollerton Town, won 3-2, at Elite AFC and Dinnington Town respectively.
Joe Bean, Taylor Thackery, and Louis Collery all netted to give SJR Worksop their first win of the season and which sees them sitting in tenth place; goals from Solomon Miller, Kieran Job, and Clownes Steele has RHP in fifth and eight off joint-leaders Hatfield Town and Teversal; and Regan Edridge, Jack Noble, and Keegan Burton netted in Ollerton’s win which sees them ninth.
Teversal meanwhile picked up their fifth win in six this season, and sit level with Hatfield, with a game in hand, following their 2-1 win at home to AFC Phoenix; Tyron Macaskill had Tevie a goal to the good at the break with Joshua Parfitt adding a second seven minutes after the restart.
In the one game in the Premier South Blidworth Welfare moved up to eleventh place following their first win of the season also; in a game that was just 2-1 to the visitors at the break, they ran riot in the second period with James Prentice bagging a hat-trick.
Already the second treble for a Blidworth player this season, Prentice was joined on the scoresheet by goals from Aidan Reader, George Dyson, Alex Green, and Kelton Ashby, in what was an impressive display from the victors.
In the Euro Soccer Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division, an impressive 380+ attendance turned out under the Friday Night Lights for the NG12 Derby, as Keyworth United welcomed neighbours Cotgrave in what became a five-goal thriller.
Ryan Smith gave the table-topping Cotgrave the lead inside twenty minutes with Jack Oldham ensuring the sides went in level at the break; Daniel Chadwick gave the hosts the lead early in the second before Lewis Robertson nets a rebound after a penalty save, before a second spot-kick, in the last minute, was finished by Scott Litchfield.
The 3-2 win for Cotgrave sees them with a four-match, winning start to the season, and already with a five-point advantage on joint-second Arnold Town, Beeston, and Collingham, the first two of whom were held to 2-2 draws.
Arnold was held at fourth bottom Dunkirk, whilst Beeston had the same when hosting third bottom Notts Olympic, with Collingham winning 2-1 away to Awsworth Villa as George Michie scored the winner on his debut after Harrison Gomm had opened the scoring; meanwhile there was plenty of goals, seventeen of them, in the remaining three, top flight encounters.
Cameron McRae fired a four-goal salvo alongside a brace from Jack Robb as Aslockton & Orston won 6-0 at FC Cavaliers, and Woodthorpe Park Rangers won 5-0 at home to West Bridgford Reserves as Conor Croft scored twice alongside goals from Connor Parkin-Scott, Darius Small, and Shaoib Goodall.
The final game finished honours even as a 3-3 draw was played out between Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves and Ruddington Village, and with six differing scorers; the visitors led 3-1 at the break with goals coming from Daniel Hollingsworth, Trenmere Lindo, and Jack Millward whilst efforts from Joshua Beeston, Louis Fazal, and substitute Ryan Whitehurst salvaged a point.
