Forest Cementing Future Deals

It’s been a good week for the future of Nottingham Forest as the club have penned down youngster Jordan Gabriel for a further two years whilst signing Welsh teenager Morgan Sadler.

London born Gabriel can play at full back or centre half and has been a mainstay in the Academy since joining from Southend United in 2015. Now aged 21 the versatile defender who has already made a first team appearance against the team he started out at in Arsenal after coming on as a substitute in the Carabao Cup has agreed a deal that will see him stay with the Reds until 2022.

Gabriel has recently joined Scunthorpe United on loan until the end of the season where he’s been a regular holding down the right back berth.

On Monday 17 year old Morgan Sadler agreed to join Nottingham Forest having been previously on the books with Bury and Wrexham. The Welsh Youth International Centre Back started his career with Manchester City and is said to have been watched by the likes of Fulham and Leeds United in recent years.

It will be Sadler’s first professional contract with the player likely to be integrated into the Academy at U18 level.

Finally, in first team news the club this week have announced a change to the fixture schedule with the match against Bristol City put back 24 hours due to SKY TV coverage. The game will now be played on Sunday 22nd March with a 3pm Kick Off at the City Ground.

The Reds weather permitting take on Queens Park Rangers on Saturday with a full strength team likely to be at Coach Sabri Lamouchi’s disposal. Forest currently fifth will be hoping a win can take them a step closer to the automatic places whilst keeping within the mix for the playoff chase.
