Christian Returns To Notts

Great news for Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club as Outlaws T20 captain Dan Christian has confirmed his intentions to return for his sixth season at Trent Bridge in 2020.

Australian International Christian now 36 has penned a new deal at Notts as an overseas player for next season’s white ball game which next year kicks off as early as May.

Captain of the 2017 T20 Blast winning team last summer he lead Notts to within a ball of a place in the final and has made 81 appearances for Notts scoring 2,021 runs and taking 51 wickets.

On re-joining his adopted county for another campaign Christian said “Trent Bridge has very much become a second home for me.”

“Not only is it consistently a fantastic surface for T20 cricket, but the crowds are amongst the best I’ve had the pleasure of playing in front of.

“I’ve made some really firm friendships in the Outlaws dressing room, and winning the Blast with Notts in 2017 will forever be one of my career highlights.

“Last season’s Finals Day defeat was one of the most agonising days I’ve ever experienced in cricket, so I’ll be doing everything in my power to help us turn that around by going all the way next year.”

Christian has most recently played for Jozi Stars in South Africa during their Mzansi Super League campaign and has IPL experience as well as playing in the ICC World Twenty Cup.

For Australia the right hander has played 19 ODI’s and 16 T20I’s with best bowling figures of 5/31 against Sri Lanka in 2012.
