Dixon Hat-Trick Gives Bees Win

It was a winning weekend for Beeston as they beat Brooklands 3-1 on Sunday to secure their fourth victory of the season in the Mens Hockey League Premier Division at the Nottingham Hockey Centre.

Peter Flanagan struck for the Manchester University opponents just before half time from a penalty corner but the second half belonged to Bees legend Adam Dixon who scored three goals all from penalty corners and after a week where he reached 301 appearances for the club he also went level with the all time goal scoring leader David Griffiths as he re-writes his own history at the club.

That win takes the Bees to fifth in the league on 14 points well below fourth placed Hampstead & Westminster but at the top of a chasing pack that is clear of last placed Reading who have just three points from eleven games and host the Bees next on Sunday in league action.

The Ladies first team fixture against Bowdon on Saturday was postponed so next up for the girls is Surbiton on Saturday at the Nottingham Hockey Centre (2pm start).
