Nottingham Panthers new signing Ryan Horvat is set to make his debut tonight as his new team take on Manchester Storm at the Motorpoint Arena in a 7:30pm face off with tickets still available.
Horvat is a 26 year old former AHL forward who shoots with the left netting 18 regular season goals with 58 assists since 2014 where he started with Manchester Monarchs before joining Ontario Reign.
After spells at Springfield Thunderbirds and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins he moved back to Springfield before playing just seven games this year for Charlotte Checkers.
Horvat on his move to Nottingham stated “48 hours ago I was still in Canada but it’s going to be great to jump straight in. There’s no time to think about it!”
A win for the Panthers could see them move to fifth ion the Elite League table but more importantly victore will widen the gap on Storm who currently lie ninth a place outside the playoff zone just three points behind Nottingham.
Ahead of the game Panthers director of hockey Gui Doucet said on signing Horvat “We’re really excited, he’s the kind of player that will compliment what we have with this group and brings a little bit more grit and physicality”
Horvat in effect comes in to replace Swede William Quist who returns to Scandanavia for personal reasons after tough goings playing just 19 Panthers game scoring 3 goals in England with Doucet stating “ he’s a great guy and a great player, it didn’t really work out for him here but it’s hockey, nothing personal we move on”
For tickets tonight you can call 0843 373 3000, visit the box office or buy online at the Motorpoint Arena website.
