Basford Announce Buildbase Plans

Basford United have unveiled exciting new plans put forward to Buildbase the sponsors of this seasons FA Trophy who are awarding financial support to clubs within the competition with the most national votes and the best laid plans in their £100k Buildbase Challenge.

The club have reached the final three and this week presented their plans at Wembley Stadium to organisers with club Chairman Chris Munroe and Manager Steve Chettle with Head of Media Craig Lamont in attendance as they pitched extensive plans to regenerate their Greenwich Avenue ground in a bid to win £25k of building materials.

The club are to outline a new clubhouse at the top end of the ground which will be 3 times the size of the existing one and will incorporate catering facilities as well as a bar, offices and toilets.

The design for the clubhouse is said to allow for a 300 seated stand with the old original club pavilion outside the ground demolished with an extension of the existing car park.

The club are looking to redevelop in stages costing a total of £500k with Chairman Chris Munroe stating “this is something we would like to do in 2020”.

As well as Basford United in the final three for Buildbase investment were Barton Rovers and Hendon FC who all pitched their cause on Monday afternoon as all three teams will hope to find out soon if they have been lucky enough to be chosen as the winner.
