Mansfield Town travel to Crewe Alexandra this weekend as the Stags look to win for the first time in the league since October against a side going strong in fifth place in League Two.
18th placed Mansfield are in a poor run of form of late going five matches without a win having picked up just one league point since November but Crewe despite being unbeaten in their last four outings have only won one league game in their last five and will be hoping to put that record straight as favourites for a home victory on many folks coupons.
Stags Midfielder Neal Bishop should play after appearing for an hour against Cheltenham before going off with concussion. Hayden White is out injured as is Kellan Gordon who has a back issue.
Crewe will be without Ollie Lancashire whilst Chris Porter should feature having tweaked a hamstring midweek.
Crewe Manager David Artell has described the Stags as ‘dangerous opposition’ stating “They finished fourth last season and lost in the play-off semi-final. They haven’t changed their squad all that much except bringing in one of the leading scorers in the league last year in Nicky Maynard. They have good players and they would be the first to admit that they should be doing better.”
“They can be a real dangerous team with the players they have but they are not doing as well as expected.”
Mansfield will be hoping for a repeat of last year when they convincingly won 3-0 at Gresty Road with the Railwaymens last win against the Stags on home soil coming all the way back in 2003.
Tickets for away fans are from £22 (adults) £17 (over 60) with other concessions below.
