Basford United forward Liam Hearn has joined Tamworth FC on an initial one month-long loan deal with the option to extend with the Southern Premier League club after the initial 30 days.
The former Mansfield Town and Grimsby forward has made just seven appearances so far this season with Courey Grantham, Nat Watson and Ash Worsfold all being preferred by boss Steve Chettle. Despite having his minutes limited he still has five goals to his name in all competitions.
The decision is in order for Hearn to get minutes on the pitch with a club statement reading “the move is an opportunity for Liam to gain match fitness an equivalent level.”
Hearn could make his Tamworth debut tomorrow when they host Leiston at the Lamb Ground.
The 34 year old Nottingham born striker is now the third Basford player to go out on loan this season. Zak Goodson and Jamie Walker are currently playing for Newark Flowserve and Ilkeston Town respectively.
