Bulls Host Magpies In County Cup

AFC Mansfield face a young Notts County team tonight in the fourth round of the Nottinghamshire FA Senior Cup at the Forest Town Arena under the lights.

The County team will likely feature Academy players with a 7:45pm kick off scheduled and entrance from £7 adults, £5 concessions whilst kids go free.

Mansfield are currently 18th in the Northern Counties East League having won their last two league matches most recently coming from behind against Hemsworth Miners Welfare to win 2-1 thanks to a late Grant Ryan goal which followed a Nicky Darker strike.

Both sides will be entering the competition at their first stage this season as both are seeded with a long absence for Notts in the competition having last won it in 1935/36.

11 time winners Notts County like Nottingham Forest have not featured in the Senior Cup in recent years but this season both will be represented fielding teams in attempt to win silverware and local bragging rights.

Whilst Forest don’t play until the first week in February (against Basford United) there are some more ties this week involving local clubs with Midland League rivals Selston taking on Newark Flowserve in fourth round Senior Cup action tonight at the Parish Hall Ground and East Midlands Counties outfit Teversal host Arnold Town of the Central Midlands League South.

Tomorrow night Eastwood Community host Ollerton Town in County Cup action whilst Hucknall Town face Gedling Miners Welfare and Newark Town take on Kimberley MW.

In the BetVictor Northern Premier League South East Division tonight Worksop Town travel to Glossop North End knowing a win will take them into the top ten whilst in the East Midlands Counties League Dunkirk travel to Borrowash Victoria.

Tomorrow night in EMCL action Radford travel to Heanor Town whilst Bilborough Town host Awsworth Villa in the NSL.

In Central Midlands action a packed midweek schedule includes Blidworth v Sherwood Colliery Reserves and Holbrook Sports v Mansfield Hosiery Mills in the Black Dragon South Division tonight whilst Collingham face Harworth Colliery and Retford United welcome AFC Bentley in the Black Dragon North Division tomorrow night.
