Evison To Miss Yorkshire Match

Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club will look to bounce back from last over defeat against Derbyshire earlier this week as they take on Yorkshire tomorrow in the Bob Willis Trophy over 4 days but they will do so without teenage star Joey Evison.

18-year-old Evison took 4/74 and notched 69 runs in two innings against Derbyshire but left the field on the final day on Tuesday with a foot injury which leads him to miss the visit of the White Rose county to Trent Bridge.

Yorkshire beat Durham by six wickets in their opening match of the season with Harry Brook in good form with the bat and with Ben Coad and Matthew Fisher destructive with the ball whilst Notts lost agonisingly against Derbyshire who secured maximum points in the North Group with just two balls of the match remaining.

There were positives in the defeat however as Evison shown maturity with Haseeb Hameed enjoying his new lease of life at Notts with back to back fifties, Samit Patel was his mercurial self with the bat whilst Jake Ball took six wickets over two innings.

As well as losing Evison to injury, Notts will also be without Luke Fletcher who missed the first match of the season and is set to not only miss the Yorkshire test but the following game against Lancashire which was supposed to be at Old Trafford but has now been switched to Trent Bridge as the Red Rose counties home game.

30 year old Fletcher who has appeared on loan for Papplewick & Linby this year has an abdominal injury and will be rested for a further couple of weeks.

The match at Trent Bridge verses Yorkshire starts at 11am on Saturday morning and will be available to watch live on the Trent Bridge website with enhanced streaming on mobile and desktop.
