Arnold & Carlton In Friendly Wins

Arnold Town won their first pre-season friendly of the summer, beating Vale FC 3-2 last night after the Eagles scored a late winner following earlier letting a two goal lead slip.

In other pre-season matches involving the counties teams Carlton Town beat Hucknall Town 3-0 at Watnall Road with goals from Ollie Clark, Tom Maddison and Kamani Wilson.

Rainworth Miners Welfare lost 3-2 at home against Staveley Miners Welfare of the Northern Counties East League, the Wrens who play their football in the East Midlands Counties League, fighting back from 0-3 down with a couple of goals from Ady Harris reducing the losing deficit in what was a competitive spirited second half performance.

One local side soundly thumped were Ollerton Town as they lost 1-5 at Clay Cross Town whilst Gedling Miners Welfare were held to a 1-1 draw with Stapleford Town in an entertaining game at Hickings Lane with both goals coming in the second half.
