Training topless with his brother Adam in 30 degree plus heat during post-season when team-mates are otherwise holidaying and resting up is just one of the reasons why the popular figure of Matthew Cash is a real fans favourite at Nottingham Forest Football Club.
A dedicated professional who is willing to improve on his game, Cash yesterday found out that he had become the clubs fans player of the season for the 2019/20 campaign whilst working out at his brothers Football Icon Academy in London, a coaching school offering one on one programmes to help develop players of all ages and skill sets.
Cash, at the top of his game is still humble enough to train and work hard outside of hours with family members as he prepares for a new season where he still does not know his whereabouts.
Courted by the likes of West Ham United, Everton, Burnley, Sheffield United, Aston Villa and Leeds United it seems that Premier League is the 23-year-old’s destiny next season and whilst the money on the table might be too good for Forest to turn down Cash is 100% happy to stay at the City Ground should a move not come about.
After receiving news of his deserved Player of the Season award Cash stated “Delighted to have won our player of the season. A big thank you to you, the supporters who voted for me. Also to my team mates, my family, the Manager, all the Staff and Simply Sport Management.”
Should he stay at Forest for whatever reason there will undoubtedly be the same 100% commitment and professional attitude from Cash as he approaches each and every game with nothing but desire and hunger to win. Those hoping he’ll stick around would also not begrudge a promising young player with a shot at England’s top tier should the Reds fail to make strides on last seasons performances.
If Cash goes it will be with great sadness to those who love him as supporters from afar and to those at the club who equally adore the Slough born Forest Academy graduate having seen him grow up over the years wearing Red & White. West Ham United look to be favourite due to their favorable location for Southerner Cash who remember last season apparently also interested AC Milan.
Should Forest get big money for Cash then it will be yet another success of the clubs academy whilst should they get the services of the flexible full back/midfielder for another season then even better still.
No matter what happens with Matty Cash it is a win/win situation. Few players in football can give you such same positive outcome on if they stay or go.
