Notts Outlaws 194/4-190 Yorkshire Vikings (T20 Blast North Group) 31.08.20
After the Vitality Blast opener was abandoned last week, Notts Outlaws have made it two victories from two games played as they beat Yorkshire Vikings on Sunday thanks largely to a stunning knock from Ben Duckett who finished on 86 not out.
Yorkshire batted first at a bright but cloudy Trent Bridge and got to 29 before Matt Carter took the first wicket of Tom Kohler-Cadmore thanks to the quick reactions of Tom Moores with a stumping.
The away side with Lyth and Root in fine form soon passed the fifty mark but on the second ball of the eighth over Mullaney had Lyth caught by Christian on 53 with the score at 83/2.
Root and Brook continued to deliver before Ball took Brook on 39 and as Yorkshire cruised past 150 it looked like Notts would be in for a tough total to chase but two quick wickets by Luke Fletcher on Fraine then Fisher gave the Outlaws a fighting chance.
Thompson and Tattersall then fell to Ball before Root was caught Hales bowled Fletcher for 65 with two late wickets giving the Bulwell Bomber Fletcher figures of 5 for 43 as Ball chipped in 3/36. Yorkshire ending their twenty overs on 190 all out.
In reply Notts for the second successive match lost Hales early doors and when Clarke followed the home side were 16/2 with two overs gone.
The fabulous Chris Nash however teamed up with the mercurial Ben Duckett as Notts reached 100 with ten overs gone before Notts opener went for 51 from 32 balls bowled LBW by Thompson.
At the other end Duckett continued to entertain hitting ten fours and two sixes en route to 86 as he was teamed up with Christian who hit a quick 21 from 11 balls before Moores came in to help out scoring the same 21 off 14.
In the end Notts did it with four balls to spare needing just five from the last over a pair of fours from Duckett capped a fabulous day individually for him as he contested Luke Fletcher for the teams man of the match, the most important thing was that Notts won and the Outlaws continue their great start to the season so far.
