Cricket Finals Weekend For Notts Clubs

Both the Dan Sutton Trophy Semi-Finals and Final will be played this weekend after it was agreed with the clubs to bring forward the original final date from Saturday 19th September to Sunday 13th September 2020.

The competition organised by the Owzat Notts Premier League has been a successful shortened 40 over format this summer played in two groups of North & South between all 12 Premier Division clubs.

Kimberley Institute topped the north group with seven wins from ten matches and will host Cavaliers & Carrington who finished second in the south section with winners Radcliffe-on-Trent taking on the north runners up Papplewick & Linby.

Both matches are tomorrow with 12pm starts and the final will be on Sunday played at Hucknall CC.

Leading the seasons stats after ten rounds of fixtures in the South Group saw Wollaton’s Nicky Kirkwood as top run scorer with 293 and an average of 32.56 whilst Nottinghamshire’s Ben Compton on loan at Plumtree averaged 38.83 with the bat scoring 233 runs in the games he played to finish third in the run-chase with Daniel Andrew (271 runs at an ave of 33.88) in second. In the North Group, Papplewick & Linby’s Ben Trevor-Jones hit 365 runs with an incredible average of 52.14 with Kimberley’s Martin Weightman scoring 349 with an average of 49.86.

With the ball Zain Latif of Wollaton took 20 wickets at an average of 10.70 with Radcliffe’s Jacob Deavin-Baker taking 17 at 11.41 next best in the south section.

In the North Group leading wicket takers were Liam Patterson-White on loan at Kimberley from Notts with 17 at 12.76 and David France of Cuckney taking the same number of wickets at an ave of 15.29.
