Outlaws Win Again

Notts Outlaws 143/2-142/8 Derbyshire Falcons (T20 Blast North Group) 17.09.20

Another convincing performance by the T20 specialists saw Notts home with an easy win at Trent Bridge last night as the green and golds consolidate their place at the top of the Vitality Blast North Group with a sixth straight win.

It was the perfect start for the hosts who won the toss and elected to field as Imad Wasim with the first ball of the night took the wicket of Madsen caught deep by Duckett.

From that moment on it was almost a formality as the visitors stumbled to 143 with 3/28 from Jake Ball and 2/26 from Samit Patel on his 100th consecutive T20 match for Notts.

Godleman with 47 gave the Phantoms hope but against a Notts batting attack in ferocious form reaching the target was never going to be in doubt with Notts opener Alex Hales in no time to mess around.

Hales hit 22 in 7 balls including two sixes and two fours before he was out in the second over but with Chris Nash finding his form on his 500th match in all cricket formats his 40 not out played a huge part to taking the game home with little under half of the game remaining.

Clarke scored a quick 16 before Critchley took his wicket with Notts on 45/2 from 5 overs but a fabulous partnership with Nash and Duckett who’s 57 from 31 balls saw the Outlaws to victory with 9.4 overs remaining.

A win that takes Notts to 14 points with two games to play. Despite the sides fine form they are not yet certain of a top place finish with Lancashire hot on their heels but a win tonight would all but cement that status as the Outlaws take on Leicestershire Foxes at Grace Road.
