Leyton Orient 2-2 Mansfield Town (EFL League Two) 19.09.20
Mansfield Town drew an entertaining match in London as the Stags let a two goal lead slip to share the spoils with Leyton Orient.
The home side had the better chances in the first half with Mansfield goalkeeper Marek Stech first called to action saving well from an early free kick before keeping out an effort for Sotiriou whilst at the other end Charsley forced the best out of Vigouroux before Clarke cleared off his own line to ensure the Stags would go in level at the break.
Five minutes into the second half and Andy Cook ran on to a long clearance by Stech before being brought down inside the box with Jordan Bowery cooly slotting home the spot kick to put the Stags one up.
Things got even better for Mansfield when Cook put home from Charsley’s pass and it might have been three when Charsley found Maris who’s effort was saved by Vigoroux.
Orient however battled on and got a goal back on 82 through Johnson before with seconds remaining Sotirou was handed the ball on a plate by Brophy who waded past defenders en-route to setting the leveller up leaving Manager Graham Coughlan frustrated at the end in having to share the points saying “That game should’ve been dead and buried, but instead we sink, allow them time and to walk past us as if we’re not there. We gave away two terrible goals today.”
“We felt too comfortable. At the end of the day, coming down here we would’ve taken a point and I thought we were good in the second-half.
“But we have two points on the board when we should have six. We chucked it away last week and we chucked it away this week.
