Cup Success For Hoods & Cats

Nottingham Hoods are through to the next round of the L Lynch Trophy after a comprehensive 91-70 victory over Charnwood Riders yesterday.

Delaney Powell scored 18 of the Hoods points with Laurits Juffer netting 16 and Ward-Hibbert taking fifteen with five assists for Hundal as Juffer sat king of the rebounds with nine.

It was a great weekend too for Nottingham Wildcats who destroyed Manchester Mystics in the WBBL Cup on Saturday to reach the semi-finals of a competition they won most recently in 2017/18.

The Wildcats winning 101-75 in the North West with 37 points for Jasmine Joyner and 19 rebounds with Chelsey Shumpert netting 29 points, gaining eight assists and nine rebounds whilst Tia Freeman scored her 750th point in the WBBL.

Nottingham will now face Sevenoaks Suns in the last four next weekend with Leicester Riders and Cardiff Met Archers meeting in the other semi-final.

After that the Wildcats are back in league action on 12th December as they start the season in the Cardiff whilst Nottingham Hoods will face Derby Trailblazers in the NBL Division One this Saturday 5th December at the Wildcat Arena as they look to improve on their 1-2 record.

Finally a mention for Nottingham Trent University Women who were beaten by Team Solent Kestrels in their Division One match of the NBL losing 75-66. Trent are currently third in their twelve team table with a 3-2 record and are also in action this Saturday as they take on Worcester Wolves at the Lee Westwood Sports Centre.
