County Back In Front Of Cameras
Notts County will tonight face their last league match before Christmas as the Magpies take on Stockport County in the National League live on BT Sport at Meadow Lane.
Stockport are currently ninth in the table, two places and a point behind Notts in seventh, but a win can take either side up as high as third, with ambition for a whole host of clubs in the top fifteen or so in the division still on gaining promotion.
Notts Manager Neal Ardley has been a frustrated figure of late with his teams enforced postponements but getting the side back on the pitch and in front of the TV cameras tonight comes as a timely boost ahead of a packed festive campaign. Notts match with Yeovil was postponed on Saturday due to a Glovers player testing positive with covid, getting back to action later today will provide Notts the chance for points on the board as they look to march back up the table following a 0-1 home defeat against Boreham Wood last time out.
Missing in action tonight will be Cal Roberts but Notts will again include on loan winger Tom Walker whilst Stockport who are unbeaten in five having won all of those matches (three of them in the FA Cup) are likely to have younger brother of Wayne Rooney, John, in their midfield.
Kick off is at 7:45pm and for the first time in many a year Notts will play on the same day and time at home as their cross-Trent rivals Forest, whilst fans are not allowed at either stadium, the match involving the Magpies will be screened live on BT Sports.
