Wildcats No Match For Lions

Nottingham Wildcats were well beaten in their live streamed WBBL match yesterday as the away side from London went back down south with a comfortable twenty-point victory that takes their league season to 2-0.

The Lions eventually winning the match 94-74 after getting off to a perfect start where they lead from the first quarter which ended with a thirteen point margin between the two sides.

Nottingham were much better in the second period with only three points between the teams but a half time lead for the visitors 53-37 meant the home team would have a mountain to climb to get back in the game.

That got more difficult as London stretched their lead to twenty in the third quarter and although the Wildcats finished the last 22-22 it was the Lions day as they took the points from the Wildcats den.

Despite the loss, Jasmine Joyner top scored in the match, amassing 37 of Nottingham’s 74 points with 13 rebounds also the best of the game. Cassie Breen was in superb form for London with 35 points and other statistics involving Wildcats stars include 7 assists, 13 points and 7 rebounds for Chelsey Shumpert.

The loss takes Nottingham’s season to 2-3 but having played more than most in the division they currently lie third in the table. London who win their second of the campaign jumping above them behind leaders Leicester Riders who are 3-0.
