Nottingham Wildcats bounced back from cup final defeat at the weekend to win on the road in the WBBL Championship and go 6,5 for the season.
It was also a fantastic night for club legend Siobhan Prior who became only the tenth player in WBBL history to reach 1,000 points as she helped her side beat Caledonia Pride 92-75 in Scotland as Kenrick Liburd’s team move fifth in the table.
Without the injured Jasmine Joyner, Chelsey Shumpert again put in a magnificent display, scoring 26 points on the night whilst Simone Costa scored 20 with 6 assists and Moa Lundqvist 18 points with an impressive 15 rebounds.
Nottingham lead a tight first quarter by four and extended that lead into half time by ten and although the third quarter was much tighter, a twelve point lead going into the last was extended to an impressive 17 point margin by the buzzer as the Wildcats bounce back from their WBBL Trophy final loss against London Lions having played some fabulous basketball on the night.
Next up for the Wildcats is a weekend off before they host Sevenoaks Suns on Friday 2nd April in a Easter weekend of action that see’s them entertain Oaklands Wolves the following day.
