Nottingham Wildcats are through to the semi-finals of the WBBL Playoffs after beating Manchester Met Mystics 80-64 at the Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle.
The team were dominant from the off against a side that finished just one place below them in the league, ramping up a 23-12 first quarter lead before building on their score to go in at half time 45-31.
Mystics edged the third quarter by two points but Nottingham were back in control by Q4 edging again towards increasing their gap, eventually winning by 16 points in a superb team performance.
Star of the show, Chelsey Shumpert went off in the fourth quarter having scored 26 points with Simone Costa netting 20 and Moa Lundqvist 16.
Lundqvist also headed the rebounds charts with 15 whilst Costa assisted four times for the Wildcats who will now play on Friday 7th May against London Lions who beat Essex Rebels.
The final of the competition will be on the 16th May and should The Wildcats win, they’ll face either Sevenoaks Suns or Newcastle Eagles who both won their quarter finals to set themselves up a place in the last four.
