Manchester Storm 4-2 Nottingham Panthers (Elite League) 11.02.22
The Nottingham Panthers began their three-game weekend last night with a disappointing defeat on the road in Manchester.
Kevin Carr started in goal opposite Jason Bacashihua for the Storm.
Dallas Erhardt (13.28) gave the hosts the lead on the powerplay & Adam Brady (17.05) doubled the Storm advantage before the first period was out.
Nottingham did, however, fight back in the second frame.
Ollie Betteridge (23.29) forced the puck home in close before Massimo Carozza (39.33) scored his first goal since returning from injury just before the period closed & the teams went into the third with all to play for.
However goals from Adam Brady (50.33), his second of the night, and Jared Vanwormer (56.17) sealed the game in favour of Manchester but not before Brady Norrish (56.35) was ejected on a five minute boarding penalty, plus a game misconduct.
That defeat leaves the Panthers fourth in the table with 31 points from 31 played with Cardiff up next in Wales tonight (7pm face off) before a return leg at the Motorpoint Arena, Nottingham, tomorrow afternoon 4pm.
