Rockets Retained For 2022
Trent Rockets have retained the services of some of its main stars for the 2022 hundred season with the likes of Alex Hales, Joe Root, Dawid Malan and Rashid Khan again likely to be featuring in yellow and red Skips emblazoned t-shirts for the men’s team this year with female stars such as Nat Sciver and Katherine Brunt as they did last year, said to be heading the women’s team’s brand of talent over this summer.
Somerset seam bowler Lewis Gregory will again captain the men’s team who were one game from a 2021 final place after being beaten in the eliminator against Southern Brave last year.
Notts skipper Steven Mullaney along with Samit Patel, Tom Moores and Matt Carter who currently all base Trent Bridge as their home across the more known and regular formats than the hundred, will again head up the Rockets attack as they did so well and so consistently last year, Former Outlaw Luke Wood, Marchant de Lange and Sam Cook will also be part of the team.
For the women, Sarah Glenn, Kathryne Bryce and Abbey Freeborn will all be part of their team which will be coached by Salliann Beams (formerly Briggs) with the recently married Grimsby born former Hobart Hurricanes and Tasmanian Tigers head honcho stating “Securing the services of Nat and Katherine was key to our development in year two of the competition. Alongside the retention of Sarah, Kathryn and Abbey, we have a strong core to carry over from last year.”
“We’ve already made some exciting additions, which will be announced in the coming weeks, and I think we’re well set to build on a solid first season.”
The women finished seventh in their opening campaign with 3 wins and 4 defeats whilst the men ended third in the table with five wins and three losses.
The Rockets men will open up their new season on 6th August at home to Birmingham Phoenix whilst the women’s team will start their campaign a week later (Saturday 13th August) at Manchester Originals in a double header which see’s the men also feature at Old Trafford.
