A busy weekend in the Owzat-Cricket Nottinghamshire Premier League Premier Division sees just Cuckney CC, and Papplewick & Linby CC, lead the way as the only two sides with a hundred percent record after four matches, the former on 32 points, the latter 26 points, after their respective victories.
Cuckney defeated hosts Wollaton CC by 55 runs, batting first and posting 263/7, Ewan Laughton hitting 77 (from 95) and Tom Ullyott 65 (from 100), as Suhaib Ahmad posted 4-47; Wollaton meanwhile would find themselves bowled out for 208, in just 45 overs, their opening batsmen, Karl Glendenning with 40 (from 74) and Hamish Llewelyn 30 (from 26) whilst five other batsmen reached double figures, Charlie Rumistrzewicz taking 3-35. The result see’s Wollaton fall to the bottom of the table.
Papplewick meanwhile saw off defending champions Kimberley CC by 33 runs, and that after being bowled out themselves for 244, in 49 overs; Callum McKenzie knocked 89 (from 95) and Brent Williams 44 (from 38), whilst in reply Kimberley were bowled for 211, Jack Nightingale with 44 (from 38) and Dominic Brown 38 (from 48) as Louis Bhabra and Christopher Glover took three wickets each, posting 3-23 and 3-50 respectively.
Third place Cavaliers and Carrington CC meanwhile, claimed a big, seven wicket success, when at Radcliffe-on-Trent, restricting them to 269/8, William Masojada hitting an impressive 104 (from 115) before Cavs replied with 273/3, Imran Butt with 92 (from 79) and Fateh Singh 72 (from 64), both in unbeaten innings.
Other results would see Hucknall defeat Plumtree by six wickets, Clifton Village see off Attenborough by 62 runs, and Notts & Arnold edge Gedling & Sherwood by a wicket, this with both sides posting 240+ runs apiece.
Division Two sees just Cavaliers and Carrington 2nds, and Mansfield Hosiery Mills, as the joint-leaders, they unbeaten in three, and on 24 points apiece.
Cavs would defeat Collingham & District by 88 runs, having posted 215 all out, Shaharyar Aslam top-scoring with an unbeaten, 115 n/o (from 139), prior to bowling Collingham for just 126, Mateen Tali taking an impressive 3-14 in just five overs; Mansfield HM meanwhile defeated hosts Balderton CC by five wickets, the hosts actually posting 239/8 with an unbeaten (retired) 78 n/o (from 111) for Shalith Fernando, ably assisted by Christopher Dobbie, Aaron Keverne-Onyon, and Alfie Morley, all hitting thirty plus, however Mansfield hit back with 242/5 as Charana Nanayakkara’s unbeaten 83 n/o, and Mark Smallwood’s 63, saw them home.
There were also successes for West Bridgfordians, who knocked 316/7 with an unbeaten 131 n/o from Saad Naseem, win by 113 runs against Clipstone, Caythorpe by 61 runs at Thoresby Colliery, and Cuckney 2nds defeated Welbeck by five wickets.
On Sunday, in the ECB National Championship, Sandiacre CC defeated Cuckney by seven wickets, bowling them for 160 and posting 162/3 in return, Joseph Hayes top-scoring for Cuckney with 48 (from 53) as Connor Marshall and Akhil Patel took three wickets apiece, Sandiacre meanwhile saw David Torr, 68 (from 81) and Scott McNeill, 63 (from 61) help see them home.
Radcliffe-on-Trent were also in action, they seeing off Loughborough Town by four wickets, who finished on 2-3/9, Radcliffe reaching 206/6 in 36./1 overs, William Maojada hitting 92 and Joe Richardson 63; the other games would see Denby CC dismiss Cavaliers & Carrington CC by six wickets, and Grantham CC beat Ticknall CC by nine wickets.
At the end of the month, Round Two will see Sandiacre host Denby, and Radcliffe travel to Grantham.
