Beeston Sign Lauren Dunn from Swansea

Beeston Ladies 1st XI are delighted to announce the signing of Lauren Dunn from Swansea Hockey Club.

Dunn joins Beeston following a seven year stay with the Welsh side where she was part of the side that gained promotion to the Premier Division for the first time in Swansea’s history.

A versatile defender who is part of the Welsh senior, Dunn has already joined up with the ladies 1s performance program and is part of the preseason plans.

On the signing Head Coach James Sordillo said “we are really excited to welcome Lauren to the club. Her playing style and personality are both really exciting additions. Speaking to the management team we remembered Lauren well from when we played Swansea earlier in the season and the problems she caused us down Swansea’s right side.

“With all new signings we look at what they are going to offer away from the field as well as on it and Lauren will be a great fit.

“I am looking forward to meeting Lauren in person when she moves up to Nottingham. We have met online and stayed in regular contact coming into pre season and I have been impressed”

Beeston Ladies 1st’s will start their 2022/2023 Premier Division campaign on Saturday 24 September against local side, University of Nottingham at Highfields Hockey Centre.

After a highest ever Premier Division finish and winning the National Cup, Beeston enter the season off the back of their most successful season in the clubs history.

More signings are set to follow as the side look to build on last season and push towards the 2022/2023 play off places.

Beeston Hockey Club is one of the most ambitious clubs in Europe, with the men’s and ladies’ first teams both competing in the English Premier Division.
