Dennis & Cheik’s In
Nottingham Forest last night completed the double swoop of Premier League quality talent as Emmanuel Dennis and Cheikhou Kouyate signed all be it too late to make the squad cut for the West Ham United match this afternoon.
Nigerian International forward Dennis scored ten Premier League goals in 33 league appearances last season and signs for an undisclosed fee whilst Kouyate is a Senegal International who played well over 200 top flight games over the last eight years for West Ham United and Crystal Palace.
32-year-old Kouyate who was out of contract, signs with the ability to play in either centre midfield or at centre half, and has 82 caps for Senegal having previously made his name at Anderlecht in Belgium.
Dennis, aged 24, who started out in the Ukrainian Premier League before also making his name in Belgium, played for Club Brugges where he scored 29 goals in 116 games before moving to England following a brief spell on loan at Cologne in Germany.
A speedy striker who can play in behind the centre forward or centrally, known for his off ball contributions, Dennis will team up with fellow Super Eagle Taiwo Awoniyi, his international team mate with Nigeria.
The signings take the summer tally to fourteen with more expected in. The Reds are rumoured to be close to securing deals for Swiss International midfielder Remo Freuler from Atalanta whilst Brighton & Hove Albion star Neal Maupay has also strongly been linked with a move Trentside.
Forest take on West Ham United in a 2pm kick off at the City Ground today, the clubs first home match in the Premier League in 23 years, the match played in front of a sell out crowd will be shown live on Sky TV.
