Top Three Win In NSL

With the top three sides all winning, it’s as you were in the Nottinghamshire Senior League Premier Division, leaders FCV Grace Dieu holding court on send place Cotgrave (thirteen points ahead), and third place Collingham (twenty-one points ahead).

FCV just needed the one goal to see off visitors Awsworth Villa, Rufus Brooks with that, whilst Cotgrave eased to a 4-0 win at home to Ruddington Village, and Collingham out a devastating, second half showing to win 7-2 at Radcliffe Olympic.

Cotgrave would find the net through Ben Upton, Lee Potts, Jack Reid, and substitute Thomas Lawson and, although they are thirteen adrift of the leaders, they do have three games in hand.

Collingham meanwhile, despite their eleventh win of the season, are pretty much out of the title picture, although they enjoyed easing past Radcliffe, Kieran Job bagging a hat-trick, and George Asplin a brace, in their big road win.

Fourth place Borrowash Victoria saw the gap on them cut to just one point after they were held to a 2-2 draw at West Bridgford Reserves, Aslockton & Orston making up the advantage in fifth following their 3-0 home success against Beeston.

Stan Logan was on target twice as Keyworth United hit sixth, with a 6-0 home win against FC Cavaliers, and Southwell City Reserves are seventh following a 7-1 win against visitors FC Sez.

Meanwhile, there’s just ten points separating Aslockton, in fifth place, and Ruddington, down in thirteenth, in the middle of which sits Woodthorpe Park Rangers, moving level with Beeston, and a point ahead of Wollaton, following their 3-1 win over fourth bottom Dunkirk.

Taking his tally for the season into double figures, Jarrod Westcarr would grab a double for the victors, he being joined on the scoresheet by Earnest Osartin’s first of the campaign.

Goals from Klaudio Marqeshi and Cameron Roberts sees East Leake Robins sitting second in Division One, nine behind leaders Kimberley Miners Welfare Reserves, and with a game in hand, after they won 2-1 away to Bingham Town, who are now third.

AFC Colsterworth lost an eight-goal thriller at Ravenshead, who are tenth, with AC United sixth following their 4-1 success over visitors Bilborough TRD, and bottom club Beeston Old Boys Association conceded another six, losing to visitors PMG Excel 6-3, Cole Thundercliffe-Hull with a hat-trick, and Noah Tesfalem a brace, for PMG.

Hucknall Town Reserves won 3-1 at Meden Vale Colts, and the game between Sandiacre and Clifton AW Reserves finished 1-1, as did the Intermediate Cup quarter-final between FC Pelican and Stapleford Town Reserves, the hosts winning the shoot-out in a lengthy, 28-27 success.

Gedling Southbank also progressed to the final four of the Intermediate Cup after they saw off Notts Olympic 5-2 at home, Stephen King with a brace for the hosts, Trent Vineyard joining them following their 3-1 success at Attenborough Development.

In Division Two Kyle Hallam scored twice as Greyfriars won 3-0 at home to Calverton Miners Welfare, and James Hallam did the same for Elston United in their 2-1 success against visiting AJ Sport.

Division Three meanwhile would see Cotgrave Reserves ease to a 7-0 win away to Awsworth Villa Reserves, Beeston Reserves see off visitors Phoenix Athletic 6-1, and the game between East Leake Robins Reserves and Ravenshead Reds end in a 3-3 draw.

Parabellum progressed to the final four of the Junior Cup, Billy Housden’s second half effort giving them a 1-0 win over hosts Langwith Whitestar, whilst in the Development Cup, Newark & Sherwood romped to a 13-0 success away to South Notts, and Red Sea won 2-1 at Pegasus.
