Easy Win For Table Topping Outlaws
Notts Outlaws 124/5-123/8 Leicestershire Foxes (T20 Blast North Group) 04.09.20
Nottinghamshire made it three wins from five (with two no results due to bad weather) as the Outlaws easily dispatched off Leicestershire Foxes at Trent Bridge on Friday night.
The Foxes batting first struggled to 123/8 from their twenty overs as the home team bowlers performed superbly to give their batsmen a low target to reach which they completed with five overs left to spare.
Jake Ball took Harry Dearden for six in the third over with just eight runs on the Foxes board and Notts continued to chip away at their opponents who were previously unbeaten with Patel taking Delaney who made a quick 25.
Ackermann was next caught and bowled by Mullaney and Rhodes was run out for just one with Leicestershire 55/4.
Lilley went for 22 when Nash caught off Wasim before Ball took his second wicket of the evening as Hill went for 14.
Mike was next to go bowled by Luke Fletcher with the Foxes on 95/7 with five overs remaining and although Notts took just one more wicket of Taylor it left a relatively low target for Notts to see off.
As so often in cricket however it wasn’t that straight forward, Nash going for a first over duck but Alex Hales and Joe Clarke soon ramped things up with a stand of 62 before Hales was caught by Taylor off the bowling of Taylor for 44 at the end of the fifth over.
Clarke (19) and Moores (1) followed in quick succession but Dan Christian hit 33 in 26 balls alongside Steven Mullaney on 7 not out as the Aussie skipper knocked off the winning runs with exactly five overs of the match remaining.
A great win for Notts who stay top of the North Group on run rate ahead of Lancashire with attention now drawing to Durham on Sunday back in the Bob Willis Trophy over the four day format.
