Soaked City Ground See’s Match Off

Nottingham Forest’s match verses Reading on Saturday was called off by the Referee Geoff Eltringham a couple of hours before kick off after non stop rain in the region overnight left the City Ground pitch unplayable.

The weather didn’t relinquish with the club stating “Heavy rain overnight has left large areas of the pitch in an unplayable condition and the referee has taken the decision to call the game off.”

The fixture will now be arranged for a later date in the season.

All was not lost though as the food left unsold due to the match postponement was boxed up in over 3,000 parcels and sent to the local Framework Charity with pies and sandwiches sent out to help feed the homeless.
