Notts Hit Four At Woking

Woking 0-4 Notts County (National League) 29.10.19

Notts County secured a fabulous win in Surrey last night as Neal Ardley’s men hit four without reply to put hosts Woking out of sight in their National League game at the Laithwaite Community Stadium.

The Magpies got off to a magnificent start when the mercurial Enzio Boldewijn struck fabulously from long range into the top corner after just seven minutes before Wes Thomas deflected a Kyle Wootton shot to double Notts lead on 18.

In the second half Wes Thomas made it 3-0 on the hour with his second of the match before Dutch winger Boldewijn made it four with his sixth league goal of the campaign as he raced clear to finish with ease on 72.

Manager Neal Ardkley impressed with his sides performance stated “I thought the way we moved it through the thirds to get in the pockets was great. We did some work yesterday and I talked about taking responsibility when you are shooting, to hit the target, and Enzio certainly did that!”

Ardley was especially happy about the way his side defended the home teams set pieces but for Notts supporters the style in which they won was ever more refreshing. This Notts County team of late have been playing some lovely football and in a passing style that helps making strides in the clubs promotion push, Notts will be looking for more of the same with the visit of Hartlepool to Meadow Lane this Saturday.

Notts now in seventh and six points behind leaders Bromley take on a club in twelfth position known affectionately as ‘the Monkey Hangers’ with three potential points at the weekend providing a major boost towards the Magpies swinging towards the top of the tree.
