Worksop Dumped Out Of Cup

Whitby Town 4-1 Worksop Town (FA Trophy First Qualifying Round) 29.10.20

In a re-scheduled match at Whitby Town last night Worksop Town were heavily beaten by their hosts from a league above as they saw their FA Trophy hopes disappear in North Yorkshire.

Worksop got off to the perfect start after just 3 minutes when Karcach scored with a long range effort that slipped through the hands of the home goalkeeper but Whitby levelled on 34 through Tymon then went in at the break leading after Hackett slotted a penalty under Tigers keeper David Reay.

In the second half the hosts had an effort ruled out before Connor Bell made it 3-1 and in the final four minutes Tymon curled home from 18 yards to ensure it would be Whitby, not Worksop through to the Second Qualifying Round.

The Tigers now face Chasetown back in league action on Saturday as they look to get back to winning ways after successive defeats all be it against stern opposition.
