Hoods Win Back-to-Back

Nottingham McDonalds Hoods had a winning weekend for the first time this season and twice scored over 100 points after beating first Westminster Warriors in the NBL on Saturday before seeing off Derbyshire Arrows in the Mens National Cup yesterday.

The Hoods went to Westminster with no wins from five this season but scored the first four points of the game and lead pretty much from that taking in an eight point lead at the end of the first quarter.

That score grew to fourteen points at half time with the Hoods taking in a 58-44 lead and that improved to a 30 point unattainable lead by the end of the third with the score eventually ending 102-76 with Nottingham picking up their first much needed points of the season.

Yesterday at the Wildcats Arena the team gave a debut to 16 year old Manpreet Hundal and started with Mitchell, Juffer, Olarerin, Goode & McGregor against the Arrows but trailed the first 25-28 before forcing themselves in front by four points at half time.

In a much closer game than the day previous that lead was increased to five by the end of the third and a stalwart fourth period saw them pass the century for the second day eventually winning by ten 101-91.

In the WBBL Nottingham Wildcats made it four from four on Saturday seeing off Oaklands Wolves 72-63 with Lizzy Harrison scoring 21 points but the league leaders suffered their first loss of the season yesterday at Leicester Riders losing 84-69. The Wildcats are now third in the table with eight points and next face Essex Rebels at the Essex Sports Arena on Saturday November 23rd.
